Vehicle vs Building Leads to Arrest in Downtown Henderson
Henderson, KY 10/14/21- Just before 10PM, emergency responders were called out to the area of 120 N. Elm Street in for the report of a vehicle collision with possible injuries. Fire fighters with the Henderson Fire Department and officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to the scene.


When officers arrived it was determined that a white 2021 Honda SUV driven by Donna Hatfield had struck the building located at 120 N. Elm Street and then went on to hit a power pole and lamp post across from the building. During the course of the investigation, officers were able to determine Hatfield was under the influence of alcohol.

Hatfield was arrested and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center on the charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol.
As a result of the collision, N. Elm Street was closed for an extended period of time between 1st Street and 2nd Street. As of 6AM (10/15/21) Henderson Municipal Power and Light still had the road closed while they replaced the broken power pole. The building suffered significant damage to the front of the building. All traffic lights were out all night as a result of this accident. Henderson Emergency Management assisted Henderson Fire Department assess the damage.
Deaconess Henderson EMS was also called to the scene but this accident is being reported as non-injury.
