UPDATE: U-Haul Also Used in Burglaries

Henderson, Ky 4/21/21- On April 9th the Henderson Police Department was called Bob’s Muffler in the 1300 block of Lower 2nd Street for the report of the business being broken into over night and numerous items taken. Detectives say, on the same date, nine other burglaries occurred at Space Rental Storage where units were also broken into and items taken.

According to Detective John Nevels with the Henderson Police Department, Jeremy Stone was arrested on 4/11/21, on a warrant for escape out of Madison County KY, and was driving the U-Haul truck allegedly used in these burglaries. After the arrest, officers were able to obtain a search warrant for the U-Haul truck. After executing the warrant, officers discovered 17 grams of Methamphetamine and paraphernalia allegedly used in the trafficking of illegal narcotics.

On 4/13/21, HPD detectives located and seized large amounts of stolen property from the storage building burglaries at a vacant residence. Detectives say that vacant residence was next door to the address Stone had been living.

On Tuesday, Stone was arrested again and charged for Burglary 3rd Degree and Receiving Stolen Property Over $10,000.00.

The investigation is on-going and other charges are pending. HPD still has a large amount of suspected stolen property from several storage buildings that occurred in the last few months that has not been identified.
