Tip Leads To Drug Bust
Sturgis, Ky 3/10/21- Detectives with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force (PNTF), Union County Sheriff Deputies and the Sturgis Police Departments received a tip that two men were going to the Huck’s Store in Sturgis to sell a quantity of Methamphetamine Wednesday night.
Detectives with the PNTF say they received information that Brandon French, 26 of Sturgis along with another unidentified man were coming from Henderson to the area of Huck’s Store after meeting with a female called “Mad Hatter”. Detectives and the Union County Sheriff Deputies were able to set up and conduct surveillance in the area of 600 block of Main Street in Sturgis.

According to the report, at approximately 10:15 PM, detectives observed a black 4-door Ford pull into the Huck’s parking lot and “blacked out” with two men inside. After a brief period, deputies say they pulled in behind the black Ford car and approached the subjects as PNTF detectives identified the male passenger as being Brandon
French.
Both subjects were removed from the vehicle in compliance to the deputies orders. During the investigation both subjects were advised of their Miranda rights and agreed to talk with the investigators. French surrendered a plastic baggie containing approximately an ½ ounce of suspected Methamphetamine. Detectives also located a quantity of marijuana, some unidentified loose pills, two sets of digital scales, along with drugs pipes and more than $1,300.00 in U.S. currency. During the investigation, detectives say French admitted the drugs belonged to him.
Brandon Scott French was arrested and charged for:
- TRAFFICKING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST. METH> 2 GRAMS;
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.
French was transported to the Webster County Detention Center and lodged under a no bond with
out incident. The male driver wasn’t charged at this time with additional charges on both subjects
pending. This is an on going drug trafficking investigation.
