Taser Deployed After Officer Assaulted

Henderson, KY 5/19/21- Officers with the Henderson Police were called to the Sugar Creek Inn in the 2000 block of US HWY 41 North in reference to a welfare check Wednesday evening.

$500 Full Cash Bond

According to officials, once officers arrived on scene just before 7PM, they located Michael Turner, 37 of Owensboro. Police report that Turner proceeded to put his hands on officers and assaulted an officer. After Turner continued to resist, officers were forced to deploy their taser to gain control of the situation.

Turner was then placed under arrest without further incident, transported to a medical facility and medically cleared for detention.

Turner was transported and lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center for the following charges:

  • Assault 3rd Degree (Police Officer or Probation Officer)
  • Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree,
  • Resisting Arrest

HPD was assisted on scene by the Henderson Fire Department and Deaconess Henderson EMS.
