Suspicious Person Report Sends One Man to Jail on Drug Charges

Henderson, KY 8/2/21- Henderson County Deputies were called to the area of Bell Street in Corydon early Monday morning for the report of a man that was seen suspiciously walking through a homeowner’s yard and looking at items.

Once deputies arrived in the area just before 1AM, they were unable to locate the man in the area. Deputies stopped at the Eagles Gas station on Main Street in Corydon to discuss the call. As Deputies were meeting, an older style Ford pickup truck drove up next to the fuel pumps and parked.

According to deputies, a male subject, matching the description of the original suspect of the Bell Street call, exited the truck and instead of fueling his vehicle, he walked to the passenger side and began looking at items inside the truck and talking to himself, before throwing them into the back of the truck.

As the man’s actions were unusual (and since he matched the description of their suspect), deputies approached and spoke with the driver. The driver identified himself as Jacob Buckman. Deputies were advised by Henderson 911 dispatch that Buckman had outstanding warrants from Union County.

After being placed under arrest, a search of Buckman located both methamphetamine and heroin as well as drug paraphernalia within his truck itself.

Buckman was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center without incident.
