‘Support A Senior’ Telethon in Henderson

Henderson KY 2/27/22– The Gathering Place or better known as the Henderson Senior Center, is hosting the first annual “Support a Senior Telethon” on March 10^th from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. The telethon will help support the daily programs at the center to ensure its mission continues in our community.

“Over the last two years, our center has been unable to host our weekly dances and monthly trips. These two revenue streams generate lots of income to sustain our programs. Our center is the hub for the meals on wheels program for Henderson County which serves over 35,000 warm meals annually. At the center, we also provide a safe haven for seniors to come fellowship with others, have a warm meal or catch a game of bingo.”

This event is asking the community to make an annual pledge in support of the senior center. According to the Telethon organizer, for as low as $8.34 per month, an individual can make an annual investment of one-hundred dollars which will make a huge impact for our growing need. The support will provide the needed assistance to continue the essential programs and activities for our senior community now and into the future.

During the night of the Telethon, individuals can call in to pledge their one-time donation or annual pledge. All donations are welcome. Those that donate will be eligible for a drawing throughout the evening from several local businesses as a thank you for their support.
