Spikes End Pursuit in Henderson

Henderson, Ky 4/10/21- In the early hours of Saturday morning, just after 4:30AM, Henderson Police Officers observed a blue colored Dodge pickup headed southbound on S. Green Street driving down the centerline of the roadway and did not have any headlights illuminated. Officers proceeded to initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on S. Green Street near Chestnut but the driver decided to not stop.

According to police, the vehicle was later located in the 400 block of 2nd Street when the driver again took off going eastbound on 2nd Street. The driver attempted to run an officer off the roadway and then attempted to ram his cruiser. The driver continued to flee from officers and then turned around headed back towards Green Street. More officers were able to assist as spike strips were deployed successfully puncturing both front tires. The driver continued to drive but was eventually stopped and arrested in the 300 Block of N. Green Street.

The driver, identified as Starla Cobb, 61 of Evansville, Indiana, was charged with the following charges:

  • Failure to Illuminate Head Lamps;
  • Fleeing or Evading Police 1st degree (Motor Vehicle);
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-Police Officer;
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree;
  • No Registration Plates;
  • No Operators License;
  • Reckless Driving;
  • Improperly Driving on Left Side of Road.
