‘SOUND THE ALARM’ Henderson Fire Dept. and Red Cross Team Up

HENDERSON, KY, 4/26/21– The Henderson Fire Department is collaborating with the American Red Cross on a project to get more smoke alarms into homes.

The program, called ‘Sound The Alarm’, is set for this Saturday, May 1st from 8:30AM to 12:30PM. This event will be held at the Eastgate Shopping Center on Outer Second Street.

At the event, HFD staff will be present to go over a Home Fire Safety Checklist with interested citizens and to compile a list of names/residences that are in need of smoke alarms.

On a later date, the HFD will visit homes and install the smoke alarms.

Sound The Alarm is a national program of the American Red Cross that strives to educate citizens in at-risk communities about home fire safety, help citizens create their escape plan in the event of fire and partner with fire departments to install smoke alarms.
