Rollover Accident Sends One to the Hospital

Henderson, Ky 5/13/21- Just after 3PM Thursday, emergency responders from Baskett Fire Department and the Henderson Rescue Squad were called out to the report of a rollover accident with injuries and entrapment on U.S. 41 North in front of Ellis Park.

911 callers reported subjects being trapped inside the vehicle but as responders began to arrive on scene, they reported everyone was out of the vehicles and no extrication was needed. According to the Henderson County Sheriffs Office, Sammy Terry, 52 of Henderson, was operating a 2013 Toyota when his vehicle left the roadway, crossed the median on U.S. 41 South in front of Ellis Park, and then traveled into the Northbound lane. The vehicle then reportedly rolled over coming to rest back in the median ditch.

Terry was transported to Deaconess Midtown by ambulance for head injuries. No further updates on his condition are available.

Deputies say the U.S. 41 Northbound twin bridges had to be shut down for approximately 10 min for the wrecker service to remove the vehicle.

Baskett was assisted on scene by the Henderson Fire Department and Deaconess Henderson EMS.
