Assistant Fire Chief Lance Wayne with the Robards Fire Department says the building had to be evacuated but no one was injured. Wayne also says there was minimal damage to some duct work inside the building but the building itself was not damaged.

Tyson management and fire department officials are still investigating the cause of the fire which started in a cooker located inside the building..

“Tyson usually handles the small fires in the duct work themselves with steam,” Wayne says, “we don’t normally get called for the small ones. This one was larger in nature and the response from the Tyson workers helped contain it.”
