Henderson, KY 4/1/21 — Health First is excited to announce the return of Dr. Kumarasooriyar Kumaravelu to Health First Cabell Platt Medical Center. Dr. Kumaravelu provides comprehensive care for children ages 0-19 years. This includes sick child/well child visits, sports/school physicals, immunizations and ADHD treatment. He will be joining Sarah Hopper, APRN, FNP, Kelly Fox, MSW, LCSW, Sue Lindsey, MSW, LCSW and Lori Conger, RD, LD in providing high quality, affordable healthcare to the community.
Dr. Kumarasooriyar Kumaravelu holds a Doctorate in Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed internship at St. George’s Hospital and residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Kumaravelu was selected for American’s top Pediatrician award by peers and patients in 2008, 2014 & 2018. Dr. Kumaravelu brings 15 years of experience.
Dr. Kumaravelu is originally from Jaffna, Srilanka. He is married to wife Elizabeth and they have 3 children. His service philosophy is that no child should lack health care services due to where they live, social status, race or ethnicity.
Health First accepts KCHIP, Medicaid, Medicare and accepts all major commercial insurance. Healthcare and prescription discounts are available for those that qualify (based on income and household size). A Kynector is also available for KCHIP and Medicaid enrollment and renewal.
