MLK Day Celebration Set For January 17th

Henderson, KY 1/3/21- A “Day of Celebration” in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be hosted by the Henderson-Henderson County Human Rights Commission at noon on Monday, Jan. 17th.

The hour-long event will take place at Henderson First United Methodist Church, 338 Third St., Henderson. Keynote speaker will be Pam Reid. Ms. Reid is a project director with Convergent Non-Profit Solutions and has been working with the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson on their ongoing capital campaign that has been launched to renovate the former Henderson National Guard Armory into a new home for the local club as well as a community center.

Ms. Reid is also an author and motivational speaker

Remarks also will be made by city and county government officials. Special music for the event will be presented by the Henderson County School of Fine Arts choir.
