Man Shot After Gunman Forces Him to Drive to Henderson
Henderson, KY 2/10/22- Deputies with the Henderson Sheriff’s Office along with Corydon Civil Defense Fire Department and Deaconess Henderson EMS were dispatched to the 10,000 block of US Highway 60 West early Thursday morning for the report of a shooting.
According to the press release, when deputies arrived on scene just after 2AM, a man had been shot in the leg. The investigating deputy says the victim, Jeffrey Bruce of Warrick County, stated that while stopped at an intersection in Evansville, a man unknown to Bruce opened the passenger door of his vehicle, pointed a pistol at him then jumped in the passenger seat.
According to Bruce’s statement, the man forced Bruce to drive him to Henderson County where the gunman switched seats with Bruce, drove a short distance then told Bruce to exit the vehicle. Bruce says as he exited the vehicle, thats when he was shot in the left calf by the gunman.
Bruce was transported to an Evansville medical facility for treatment via EMS for non-life threatening injuries. Evansville Police are investigating the theft of the vehicle.
