KSP Trooper Taken to the Hospital After Another Cruiser Struck Overnight
Robards, KY- 1/7/22- Interstate 69 was pretty active overnight near the Robards/ Niagara exit ramps as semi trucks and passenger vehicles were constantly losing traction and sliding off the roadway into the ditches and medians.
Kentucky State Police was on scene for several hours late Thursday night as 3 semis were off the roadway between mile markers 140 and 141. Just after 11PM, a vehicle traveling northbound lost control of their vehicle striking a KSP Trooper’s cruiser while the trooper was inside the cruiser. The trooper was working the scene of another accident. According to Trooper Corey King with Post 16, the trooper was transported to the hospital by a Deaconess Henderson EMS ambulance and is believed to have suffered a concussion.

Around 3AM Friday morning, another semi truck hit the median and rolled over on its side losing its load. Robards Fire Department was called to the scene which resulted in no injuries. As you can see in the photo below, the section of Interstate 69 between Robards and Bypass 425 appears to be glass as the black ice has covered the roadway.

“That’s 2 Kentucky State Police cruisers struck in just 5 hours (in Henderson County), Please stay home if you can..”
