“Just needed a ride to Henderson” | Arrest
Henderson, KY 2/28/22- On Monday, Henderson Police Officers were dispatched to be on the lookout for a white Toyota Avalon that was reportedly stolen from an apartment complex in Evansville. Evansville dispatch reported the vehicle was last seen heading toward Henderson.
According to a report from HPD, Officers located the stolen Avalon traveling south in the 2000 block of US Hwy 41N. As officers attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, the suspect fled from officers in the stolen vehicle heading south on Green Street at a high rate of speed.
The suspect was then located a short time later running on foot in the 400 block of North Elm Street. Once officers took the suspect into custody, he was identified as Charles Brown, 34 of Evansville. Brown told officers he didn’t have a ride to Henderson, so he just stole one.
Charles Brown was arrested and transported to the Henderson County Detention Center where he was booked and charged for:
- Receiving Stolen Property over $1000 under $10,000,
- Fleeing or Evading Police (1st Degree) (Motor Vehicle),
- Reckless Driving,
- Operating on Suspended License.
