HENDERSON, Ky. 6/10/21– With pandemic restrictions starting to wane, the City of Henderson’s John F. Kennedy Community Center staff will be restarting its free Summer Youth Recreation Program on Monday, June 14.

Parents can now sign up their children for the program that was put on pause in the summer of 2020. The program will run from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday starting June 14 and ending June 30. It is for ages Kindergarten through Grade 5.

In addition to lunch every day, served by the Henderson County Schools Summer Feeding Program, activities include lots of arts and crafts, visits from the mobile library of Henderson County Public Library and nutrition education programs. Parents should visit the JFK Center in person to sign up their children located at 515 S. Alvasia St. in Henderson.

There is no need to bring anything for participating in the Summer Youth Recreation Program. When dropping off children, parents should not leave until their child is inside the building. For more information about the summer program, you can call 270-831-1261.
