Injury Accident Ends with D.U.I. Charges
Henderson, KY 6/27/21- Deputies with the Henderson Sheriff’s Office and the Robards Fire Department was called to an accident with injuries in the 12,000 block of Highway 41 south early Sunday morning.
Just before 1AM, responders arrived on scene and found a blue Ford SUV turned sideways in the front yard with a man seated behind the vehicle. According to deputies, the vehicle had heavy side damage where it had impacted a tree in the front yard of the residence. This was a single vehicle accident.
Authorities say the driver, Genaro Andres of Sebree, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Andres was said to have had a heavy odor of alcohol as well as open containers of alcohol were found in plain view inside his vehicle.
Andres was transported to Henderson Deaconess Hospital by Deaconess Henderson EMS for medical evaluation. While at the hospital, Andres was given a court date and charged with the following:
- Driving Under the Influence (1st),
- Possession of Open Container,
- KY Operators License not in possession
The Henderson City-County Rescue Squad was also called to the scene but was disregarded enroute.
