Ice causes vehicle to hit house

Henderson, Ky 1/20/21– Emergency responders were sent to the 1000 block of Atkinson Street this morning for a vehicle vs house. Officials say the accident occurred at 7:30am this morning resulting in minor injuries.

According to the report, Meagan Joyner, 31 of Henderson, turned off of Wright St onto Atkinson St heading North. Joyner told officers she then hit a patch of ice that caused her to spin out forcing her into the yard of 1004 Atkinson. Joyner’s vehicle clipped the residence as well as a utility pole in front of the residence.

Officers say the vehicle continued through the yard and hit the rear section of 1002 Atkinson St causing significant damage to the structure.

Joyner complained of minor injuries to her hand but declined medical attention.
