HPD Reminds Public of City Ordinance

Henderson, Ky 5/25/21- As the holiday weekend approaches and boating season is ready to set sail, the Henderson Police Department wanted to put out a few reminders to the community.

Although Henderson has a large and beautiful waterfront with what appears to be a large amount of parking, it quickly becomes congested on the weekends as boaters take to the waterways. HPD wants to make sure everyone is equipped with the knowledge on what steps need to be taken to legally park on the boat ramps during boat season as well as the penalties associated with the illegal parking of non-permitted vehicles.

The link below is to the City of Henderson’s webpage which outlines specifically the content of Chapter 25 of the Code of Ordinances.

During the time period of May 1st. – September 30th, HPD officers have been asked to regularly patrol the boat ramps and issue citations for violators of this ordinance. Additionally, our “Water Operations” division will be patrolling the waterways to make sure boaters are remaining safe through-out the boating season.

“Please make sure you do your part to ensure you are legally parked and boating safely and we hope you all have a happy holiday weekend.”
