HPD: Officers Sworn in by Mayor

Henderson, KY 2/7/22- Henderson Mayor Steve Austin swore in three new police officers. According to the Henderson Police Department social media site on Monday, Payne Bickett, Travion Carr, and Hector Gonzalez were sworn in by the Mayor after months of training in the academy.

The three new officers were hired on July 6th, 2021 and began the academy on August 22nd, 2021. Officials say they went through 20 weeks of training, and graduated from Class #523 on February 2nd, 2022.

Payne Bickett served as the class adjutant where he worked closely with the class coordinator in keeping the schedule up-to-date. Travion Carr received outstanding performance in physical fitness and served as a Class Officer. Hector Gonzalez received the Coordinator’s Award, and served as a Class Officer.
