HPD Honor Guard to honor Owensboro Officer

Henderson, Ky 4/14/21- Members of the Henderson Police Department Honor Guard will be assisting Owensboro Police Department in the funeral ceremony of Officer Shartez McHenry today. “On this day, the Owensboro Police Department mourns the loss of one of our own. Officer Shartez McHenry proudly served the citizens of Owensboro for the last 7 years. Officer McHenry’s dedication to our community and passion for helping others exemplified what it means to be a public servant. Officer McHenry’s enthusiasm was contagious. Our hearts are broken. We miss our friend and sister. Officer McHenry would want us to honor her by continuing her legacy of selfless service. This is what we intend to do. Officer McHenry, we will take the watch from here.”

The Owensboro Police Department announced last Wednesday the loss of one of its officers. The Department says Officer Shartez McHenry is being remembered for her dedication to the community and passion for helping others. McHenry was with the department for 7 years.
