HPD: Arrest Made in Shooting Investigation

Henderson, KY 8/12/21- An arrest has been made in reference to a July “shots fired” call in Henderson. Henderson Police arrested two 15 year old male juveniles for Wanton Endangerment (1st Degree) on Thursday.

According to Henderson Police Detective John Nevels, just after midnight on July 29th, officers with the Henderson Police Department were called to the 1200 block of Helm Street for the report of shots fired. When police began to investigate they discovered that the residence had been shot into numerous times.

The occupant of the residence told police she heard numerous shots and discovered items shot inside her residence.

After further investigation, detectives found that one of the juveniles had been involved in a fight with an individual prior to the shooting which eventually escalated into the shooting, but detectives say the juveniles shot into the wrong house.

The gun used in the crime has been recovered.

Anyone with any further information is asked to call the Henderson Police Department Investigations Division at (270) 831-1295.
