Hit-N-Run Crash Sends 2 to the Hospital
Henderson, KY 1/21/2023- Just after 9PM Saturday, Henderson County emergency responders were called to US 60 East at the intersection of Highway 1078 North (Baskett Lane) for the report of a vehicle accident with injuries. Upon dispatch of the call, Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies were told that one of the vehicles involved had fled the scene of the accident and continued East on US 60 E towards the Reed area.

As emergency crews began to arrive on scene, another accident involving a rollover with injuries and possible entrapment was dispatched on US 60 East at the Henderson/Daviess County line in Reed involving a single vehicle. Baskett Fire Department remained on scene at 1078 North while Spottsville and Reed Fire Departments continued on to the scene in Reed.

Upon arriving on scene, crews found one truck which appeared to have rolled and landed on its side in a field. Just after the wreck, bystanders helped get the driver out of the vehicle. Deputies believed that this vehicle was to have been involved in the accident at US 60 E and 1078 N. The driver of the hit-n-run vehicle was identified as Castulo Garcia out of Owensboro, KY. Garcia was transported to Deaconess Henderson with non-life threatening injuries. Deputies say a Richard Keach of Henderson was also transported from the 1078 North scene to Deaconess Midtown in Evansville with non-life threatening injuries.
Emergency responders from Deaconess Henderson EMS, Kentucky State Police, Henderson Emergency Management, Henderson City-County Rescue Squad also assisted on both of these scenes.
