Henderson, KY 2/20/21- While officers with the Henderson Police Department were on routine patrol Saturday night, they observed a vehicle driving reckless in the area of Washington and S Holloway Street. According to the report, Officers attempted to make a stop on the vehicle. Before officers could catch up to the vehicle it was involved in a collision at the intersection of S. Holloway and Center Street. Officers say they were near enough to witness the collision and observe the driver, Richard Armstead, 26 of Henderson, flee from the vehicle on foot.
HPD quickly set up a perimeter around the area and was able to located Armstead a short time later in a back yard near the area. Armstead was arrested with no further incident. During a search of Armstead once he was in custody, officers located marijuana on him.
Armstead was transported and lodged into the Henderson County Detention Center for the following charges:
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident
- Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance
- Reckless Driving
- Possession of Marijuana.
