HFD Saves Home From Vehicle/Garage Fire
Henderson, KY 7/22/21- Just after 8PM Monday, the Henderson Fire Department was called to the 1200 block of South Alves Street for the report of a vehicle on fire inside a garage. Little did they know, upon the initial report, it was unknown that the garage was underneath the home at this location.

“Quick actions had positive results tonight by both the occupants and the fire department on a vehicle fire inside the garage. The quick actions by both resulted in far less damage to the structure.”

Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the 2-car garage leaving burn marks on the bricks above the garage leading up to the home above. Firefighters quickly sprung into action and extinguished the fire which had already began to damage the interior of the garage.
Officials say fire crews checked for fire extension in both the house and the attic area, but no extended damage was located. Firefighters removed the vehicle from the garage during overhaul. No injuries were reported on scene.
“Firefighters did a great job on this call. Hard work, preparation, dedication, training and a quick response time all contributed to such a positive outcome with this fire.”
