Henderson Woman Arrested After Pedestrian Hit & Run

Henderson, KY 3/9/21- Henderson emergency responders were called to the 2000 block of the 41 North strip for a traffic accident with injuries involving a pedestrian. Henderson Fire Department arrived on scene just before 7 PM Tuesday night to find a man laying on the ground with what police say were “serious physical injuries”.

According to the report, the driver of a white Chevy Equinox kept driving and never stopped after hitting the pedestrian. Hpd says Kimberly Derrington, 47 of Henderson, drove home and still did not call 911 for approximately another hour and twenty-two minutes after the accident happened. Officers also found a side mirror on the pavement at the scene which came from the Equinox.

Officers picked up Derrington at her home in the 9200 Block of Martin Martin Road a short time later. According to Derrington, she says that she had just left work on Marywood Drive and was driving Southbound on 41 North when a pedestrian ran out in front of her vehicle. Derrington told officers that she knew that she had hit a pedestrian but kept driving.

The pedestrian, Justin Tillman (33) of Henderson, was taken to a nearby hospital by Deaconess Henderson EMS. According to social media today, Tillman has undergone surgery and the surgery went well.

Kimberly Derrington was taken into custody and lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center and charged for:
