Henderson Mayor Issues State of Emergency for the City of Henderson

Henderson, KY 2/2/22- In response to Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear’s State of Emergency executive order, Mayor Steve Austin has answered with one for the City of Henderson.

City offices will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 3rd. A determination about the status of City offices for Friday, Feb. 4th, will be made prior to 6 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4th. Essential services will continue.

Henderson Area Rapid Transit will not be operating on Thursday, Feb. 3. An evaluation will be made later on Thursday about the timeline for restarting route.

I have declared a state of emergency for Henderson County ahead of a possible ice storm tomorrow. The declaration will be reviewed on Friday. The declaration urges local citizens to stay home in icy conditions if at all possible. County offices will be closed until further notice. It also gives the county more flexibility in responding in case the storm becomes a serious emergency. Thank you, and stay safe.

Brad Schneider, Henderson County Judge Executive
