Henderson Man Facing Drug Charges after Foot Pursuit

Henderson, KY 3/29/21- Just before 5PM this evening, you may have been cruising down 60 East near Cosby Drive and spotted a couple Henderson Police Officers running across the field at Bend Gate Elementary School. HPD was called to the area of Bend Gate Elementary school earlier this evening in reference to the report of a man wearing a trench coat that allegedly appeared to be intoxicated.

When HPD officers arrived in the area, the report says they located Corey Hope, 22 of Henderson, who was “manifestly under the influence” of a controlled substance. When Hope spotted officers, he took off running. Then, the foot pursuit was on. Officers chased Hope across the field and apprehended him nearby on Cosby Drive.

After the short foot pursuit, officers located a glass pipe containing a white crystal residue believed to be Methamphetamine on Hope. Hope was arrested and lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center.

Hope faces charges of possession of controlled substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine).
