Henderson, KY 6/17/22- On Wednesday, Detectives with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force (PNTF) further charged a Henderson County Detention Center inmate after serving a search warrant at his residence.
According to the release, current inmate Nicholas Joseph Hardrick, 38 of Henderson County, was found to have been in possession of a Smith & Wesson AR-15 Rifle (by a convicted felon). The new charges (arrest) resulted from a joint investigation with the Henderson Sheriff’s Office on March 10. 2022.
Detectives from both agencies executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Watson Lane where Hardrick resides. Police were able to recover several items from reported Burglaries in Henderson County. During the search of the residence, detectives also located and seized an amount of Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, $1,800.00 U.S. currency along with the Smith & Wesson AR-15 Rifle and ammunition. Charges were directly filed at that time.
Detectives say during this on-going drug and theft investigation, they were able to locate the owner of the Smith & Wesson Rifle with the assistance of the Posey County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives were able to confirm the rifle to have been reported stolen during a home burglary out of Wadesville, Indiana.
Additional charges may be forthcoming in this continued investigation by the PNTF. Hardrick is being held in the Henderson County Detention Center under his current drug trafficking, theft, burglary and additional Failure To Appear charges. The additional charges from Wednesday (along with a $2,500.00 Full cash Bond) is for: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY (FIREARM).
