Head-On Collision Sends Three to the Hospital

Henderson, Ky 10/27/21- Emergency responders in Henderson County were called to Tom Smith Road, approximately one mile off Highway 1078 South, for the report of a head-on collision Wednesday night. Initial reports from the callers told responders two people were trapped inside one of the vehicles.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash on Tom Smith Road around 7:50 p.m. along with responders from Zion Fire Department and the Henderson City-County Rescue Squad. Firefighters first on scene say one of the doors had to be popped open with extrication equipment in order to remove one of the patients from the vehicle.

Deputies say two people were inside one of the vehicles. Authorities say the driver of this vehicle was Melanie Parker (21) and the passenger was Thomas Parker, both of Henderson. The driver of the second vehicle was a minor, who’s also from Henderson. All three were transported to Deaconess by Deaconess Henderson EMS and treated for their injuries.
