HCSO: Shooting Investigation, One Man Shot in Baskett

Henderson, KY 6/26/21- Just before 7PM Saturday night, police agencies and emergency medical responders were called to Baskett for the report of a man being shot.

Deputies from the Henderson County Sheriffs Department along with assisting officers from the Henderson Police Department responded and located Carl Jacob, 29 of Henderson, in a field close to the railroad tracks on Basket Cemetery Road, with a gun shot wound. Deputies conducted first aid until Baskett Fire Department, Henderson EMA, and Deaconess Henderson EMS were able to arrive on scene.

Carl Jacobs was transported to St. Vincents Hospital in Evansville IN for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The incident is still under investigation. The suspect was not located after a search of the area but the Henderson County Sheriffs Department does not believe the public to be in any danger at this time.
