HCSO: Fatal Accident on 425 in Henderson; Two Others Transported
Henderson, KY 1/25/23- Just after noon on Tuesday, Henderson County emergency crews were called along with the Henderson Sheriffs Office to the 5800 block of KY Bypass 425 for the report of a two vehicle collision with injuries and possible entrapment. As responders from the Cairo Fire Department began to arrive on scene, they confirmed the need for extrication and reported one vehicle had begun to catch on fire.
Firefighters with Zion, Robards, and Henderson Fire Departments along with Henderson Rescue Squad personnel near the scene responded to assist Cairo to quickly knock down the flames and extricate the entrapped motorist.

According to the Henderson Sheriff’s Office, this accident is still under investigation but at this time it appears a passenger car traveled across the center line and into the path of a large truck. Deputies also report that the Henderson Coroner’s Office pronounced a Central City KY man deceased at the scene. Two other men were transported to a hospital in Indiana, condition unknown.
Other agencies responding or assisting with this scene included Henderson County Emergency Management, StatFlight, and Henderson 911 Dispatch. Investigators had the road shutdown for an extended period of time after emergency operations had ended in order to conduct the reconstruction investigation.
