Fire Destroys Garage in Spottsville
Spottsville, KY 7/18/21- Firefighters were called out just after 5AM Sunday morning in Spottsville for a working garage fire fully engulfed.
Spottsville firefighters arrived on scene in the 2100 block of Wood Street to large flames and heavy black smoke bellowing out of a two car garage. The home, located approximately 10 feet from the garage, caught fire on the side of the home as firemen began to extinguish the flames. Officials say the garage is a total loss and three vehicles were damaged as a result of the fire but no injuries were reported.
According to Spottsville Fire Chief Nick Risley, firemen had the fire knocked down and under control within 10 minutes of arriving on scene. Firefighters were on scene for approximately 3 hours performing salvage and overhaul operations and extinguishing hot spots throughout the garage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but Chief Risley says the fire was unintentional and not under any suspicious circumstances.

Firefighters from Reed, Baskett, Zion, and Niagara Fire Departments responded to assist Spottsville in battling the blaze. Units from the Henderson City-County Rescue Squad, Henderson EMA, Deaconess Henderson EMS, and the Henderson County Sheriffs Office also responded to support firefighters fighting the fire.
