Fatal Crash on Rucker Road in Henderson
Henderson, KY 3/16/22- Just after 6AM Wednesday morning, Henderson County emergency responders were called out to assist the Henderson Sheriff’s Office on a two-vehicle collision in the 5,500 block of Rucker Road #1.
When deputies arrived on scene, a semi-tractor trailer was stopped in the middle of the roadway and a Ford Ranger had left the roadway and was off in a yard.
According to the report, the semi driver, Jeremy Buley, 38 of Henderson, was operating a 2004 International pulling a trailer loaded with logs. Buley was attempting to make a left turn out of a driveway to go north on Rucker Rd #1 when the Ford Ranger, driven by Daniel Mullen, 61 of Henderson, was southbound on Rucker Rd #1.
Deputies report that for an unknown reason at this time, Mullen’s vehicle made impact with the rear of Buley’s trailer. Once impact was made, Mullen’s vehicle went backwards approximately thirty feet before stopping in a yard.
The Henderson County Coroner’s Office pronounced Daniel Mullen deceased on the scene as a result of his injuries. Mullen was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters and EMS personnel and transported to Madisonville by the coroner’s office for an autopsy to be performed on Thursday.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted on scene by the Zion Fire Department, Baskett Fire Department, Kentucky State Police CVE, and Deaconess Henderson EMS Ambulance.
