Driver Falls Asleep, Wrecks Overnight in Robards

Henderson, Ky 4/16/21- Just after 1 AM this morning, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office along with Robards Fire Department, Henderson City-County Rescue Squad, and Deaconess EMS were called to an accident with injuries on I-69, near mile marker 138 .

According to deputies, Canaan Floyd (25) was driving southbound when he fell asleep. First Floyd’s vehicle went off the left side of the road into the median but then re-entered the roadway in the southbound lanes going off the right side of the road and striking an embankment.

Floyd was the only occupant and was transported to Deaconess Hospital in Henderson for non-life-threatening injuries.

Robards Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Sebree Fire Department, Webster County EMS and Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
