Driver Evades Police, Wrecks Truck

Henderson, KY 9/5/21- Just before 9:30PM Sunday night, an officer with the Henderson Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle after the vehicle squealed its tires making a left turn off of Main Street on to 1st Street.

According to police, the vehicle refused to stop and started driving down Water Street at a high rate of speed. The traffic stop was terminated while the vehicle continued to speed off.

Ongoing Investigation: Incarcerated Inmate Receives More Charges

Not long after police terminated the traffic stop to keep from causing a pursuit in the middle of town, witnesses from the area of Dixon and Water Street contacted Henderson E911 advising there was a vehicle in the wooded area behind Gavilon Grain LLC near the riverfront area revving its motor as though it was stuck. When police arrived, they verified this was the same vehicle which fled from Officers moments prior.

The Henderson Police Department, along with the Henderson County Sheriffs Office apprehended George Grigsby of Boonville, who was behind the wheel when officers approached. Grigsby drove through the fenced in area of Gavilon Grain LLC. prior to striking a tree and immobilizing his vehicle.

Grigsby was placed under arrest and is being held at the Henderson County Detention Center where he is charged with the following:

Improper Start From a Parked Position,
Reckless Driving,
Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle),
Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Substances,
Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree,
Possession of Marijuana,
Possession of Drug Paraphenelia.

Henderson, KY 9/6/21- Just after midnight on Monday, officers with the Henderson Police Department located a Jacob Boston, 32 of Henderson, in the 1000 block of N. Green Street.

According to police, Boston had multiple warrants for his arrest. Once Boston was in custody, officers searched him before placing him in the back of the patrol car. While searching Boston, officers located a small baggie with a crystal like substance believed to be Methamphetamine in his pocket. The crystal like substance believed to be Methamphetamine was field tested and field tested positive for methamphetamine.
