Double Arrest Serves 6 Bench Warrants
Henderson, Ky 4/9/21- Deputies with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 1000 block of Newman Street in Smith Mills for the report of a “suspicious person”. According to the 911 caller, a subject was trespassing on the their property and then running off but was unable to be located.
While deputies were on scene looking for the subject, they located a man getting into a vehicle just up the street.
The vehicle was stopped by deputies and the two individuals inside were identified as James Matthew Stone (driver) and Natalie Cates (passenger).

Deputies discovered that Stone had a parole violation warrant and another bench warrant for failing to appear on a D.U.I. charge. Cates was found to have four active bench warrants. One for a felony probation violation, one for failure to appear for giving officer a false name, one for shoplifting U/500 criminal possession of forged instrument (2nd Degree) and theft by deception/cold check u/500.

Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Henderson County Detention Center.
