Henderson, Ky 3/30/21- The Henderson Police Department conducted a traffic stop Tuesday night near the intersection of 5th and Green Street on a suspicious vehicle driving with no headlights.
According to the police, Jason Dehaven, 35 of Dixon, Ky, was stopped just after 11PM for not having his headlights on. After further investigation, the officer determined Dehaven had an active parole warrant for escape. Dehaven was then placed into police custody.
Dehaven asked the HPD officer “to grab the black backpack out of the trunk” to verify the registration. When officers were attempting to locate the registration out of the bag, the came across a syringe in the bag which prompted officers to further search the bag. The report says the search of the bag produced a blue digital scale with white residue. The residue was field tested and tested positive for methamphetamine.
Dehaven was arrested and transported to the Henderson County Detention Center with no bond and was charged for:
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine);
- Parole Warrant for Escape;
- Operating on a suspended or revoked license;
- Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance;
- Failure to illuminate head lamp;
