Deputies Discover “Room Full of Drugs”
Henderson, KY 4/29/21- Just before 6PM Thursday, Detectives with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force (PNTF) served a narcotic arrest warrant on Paul Joseph Schwartz, 34 of Henderson. Schwartz is currently already incarcerated for other felony charges by the Henderson Sheriff’s Office at the Henderson County Detention Center.
PNTF detectives assisted the Henderson County Deputies in a drug investigation after deputies attempted locate and serve an arrest warrant on Schwartz at his Kennedy Circle residence. After making contact with an individual at the Schwartz residence, deputies were advised that Schwartz “wasn’t at home”.
Deputies obtained consent to search the residence where they were then shown to Schwartz’s bedroom. Upon entry into the bedroom, deputies observed what appeared to be a “room full of drugs and drug paraphernalia” including over a 100 capped and uncapped syringes, some used and unused laying around the room along with what deputies believed to be heroin and unknown pills.
The suspected drugs and paraphernalia was photographed and collected for evidence. During the investigation three of the syringes contained a substance that tested positive utilizing an IONSCAN 600 for Morphine (a Controlled Substance 1st Degree).
According to the report, deputies also located an assortment of pills in the bedroom including Clonzepam Schedule IV, suspected Legend Drugs, and an unspecified amount of Marijuana.
The suspected drugs were packaged for evidence to be sent to the Kentucky State Police Lab for processing.
Schwartz was served on the PNTF warrant at the detention center and charged for:
- POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST. OPIATES {MORPHINE}.
- POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 3RD. (DRUG UNSPECIFIED) SCHED IV.
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.
- ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF LEGEND DRUGS (2 COUNTS).
Paul Joseph Schwartz was lodged in the Henderson County Detention under a $5,000.00 Full Cash Bond.
