City and County Road Work Continues in October

HENDERSON, KY 10/1/21– The City of Henderson has planned for a contractor to work in the Central Business District through the month of October sealing cracks in the pavement.

According to city officials, the work is scheduled to continue block by block on Main and Water streets from Washington Street to the railroad overpass and on Washington Street from Water Street to South Green Street as weather permits. Busy sections of Main Street will be worked on during non-business hours.

Public Works advises that if you observe contractors working in your area, it would be helpful for your vehicle to be moved off the street temporarily in order to get the best results with the repairs.

If conditions allow, the entire project is expected to be completed by October 30.

In the County, Judge Executive Brad Schneider says the schedule crews will be working in October (laying down new blacktop on roads in the County) will be the following:

Crooked Road, October 2nd
Boswell Road, October 4th
1st Street, 2nd Street and Church Street in Bluff City, October 4th
Tillman Bethel, October 14th and 15th
Dixon #1 and Eblen Road, October 18th
Tapp Duncan, October 20th

The schedule is subject to weather delays.

Judge Schneider also says roads chosen for new blacktop each year are determined by an internal grading system for road conditions along with input from magistrates as well as budget constraints.
