Bones Found in Henderson Not Those of Missing Heather Teague
Henderson, KY 10/28/21- The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office was called last Friday to investigate possible human remains which were found in the northern part of the county. A woman reportedly looking for arrowheads found the remains and alerted the Sheriff’s Office.
The bones were said to be located in an area near Green River Road #2 close to where the Green River enters the Ohio River. By way of water, this location is just around the bend from where a young woman went missing 26 years ago.
Sarah Teague, mother to Heather Teague, tells us a dental expert along with the medical examiner compared the findings to Heather’s dental records and was able to confirm that the bones were not those of Heather Teague. Heather Teague disappeared Aug. 26, 1995, while sunbathing on a Henderson County beach on the Ohio River. A Newburgh man told police he was looking across the river at the beach through a telescope when he saw Heather being taken away by a man with a gun.
Sheriff Crafton tells us a partial skull and some other bones, that appear to be human, were discovered and were sent to the medical examiner in Louisville. Sheriff Crafton says at this time they do not know how old the bones are or how the person may have die.
