Boat Docks In | “Tour of Parks” this Summer
HENDERSON, KY 5/19/22– As the Ohio River has now settled at a comfortable level, the City of Henderson had crews install the boat docks at both the Second Street and Third Street ramps just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
Recreational boaters should also see the installation of the dock at the Hayes Boat Ramp sometime in the near future after it undergoes a minor repair.
With the return of the boating season, City Officials want to remind the public about parking in the boat ramp spaces. On Saturdays and Sundays (and holidays) through Sept. 30, NO VEHICLES are to park in the boat ramp parking area unless they have a current boat/watercraft trailer parking permit sticker. Those without a parking permit should use on-street parking instead. Vehicles parked in the boat ramp parking area without a sticker are subject to parking tickets.
On another note, the City of Henderson Parks & Recreation Department will host the Henderson County Public Library’s Mobile Library in three different parks during the summer break. Activities to be offered in the summer “Tour of Parks” will include story time, crafts and singing. Here’s the summer schedule:
- Atkinson Park on June 2, June 30, July 14, and July 28 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
- Newman Park on May 31, June 28, July 12, and July 26 from 9-10 a.m.
- East End Spray Park on May 31, June 28, July 12, and July 26 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
