Arrest Made in Washington Street Shooting
Henderson Ky 5/27/21- On Wednesday the Henderson Police were called to Deaconess Henderson Hospital for the report of a gunshot victim that had arrived at the hospital emergency room.
According to the report, the victim had a gunshot wound through both legs below her knees and claimed she was walking the dog at the time of the shooting. The victim did not know where her vehicle or dog was when speaking to police but told police the incident occurred in the 600 block of Washington Street.

On Thursday the victim’s boyfriend, Isaiah Johnson, 24 of Henderson, was driving her vehicle. Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on Johnson just before 2AM in the 400 block of S. Adams St. but he fled from police at a high rate of speed. Shortly after, Johnson was apprehended in the 800 block of Pond Street and was found to be in possession of a handgun and suspected marijuana.
The victim spoke with detectives again on Thursday and said she was driving Isaiah around in her vehicle when he became mad because she would not let him drive. As they were driving through Henderson Station Apartments, she says Johnson shot her.
Johnson has been arrested and charged with the following:
- Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree,
- Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon,
- Possession of Marijuana,
- Assault 1st Degree.
Johnson is being held at the Henderson County Detention Center currently with no bond.
