2-Month Drug Investigation Adds Even More Charges to Henderson Inmate

Henderson, KY 2/14/22- After a two-month long drug trafficking investigation conducted by multiple police agencies, one man is receiving several more drug charges than he bargained for.

During the investigation, the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force (PNTF) along with multiple local agencies including the Providence Police Department, Henderson Sheriff’s Office, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Probation & Parole Officer’s and the Evansville Police Department Gang Unit discovered several groups of individuals making trips to the Lexington, Richmond, Louisville, Paducah and Evansville, Indiana area picking up Percocet 30’s (Fentanyl), Ecstasy, LSD, MDMAMolly’s, THC Wax Shatter, Cocaine, Xanax Bars and Hi-Grade Marijuana and transporting the drugs back into the Henderson, Webster and Union County area for distribution.

Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force (PNTF) detectives and Henderson Sheriff Deputies served Hunter D. Hughes, 24 of Webster County, more drug trafficking warrants last Tuesday. Hughes is currently lodged on drug trafficking charges in the Henderson County Detention Center in Henderson County from being arrested on January 21st.

On December 6th, 2021, the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and Providence Police Department conducted a drug trafficking investigation on Hughes who was known to be making trips to the Lexington area to pick up drugs and bring them back to the Henderson and Webster County area. Investigators utilized a undercover source to conduct a controlled buy of (5) Perc30’s (small round blue pills) and (100) Ecstasy pills for$300.00 from Hughes at his Webster County apartment.

The warrants were issued for the following charges:

  • TRAFFICKING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (1st Offense), (CARFENTANYL or FENTANYL).
  • TRAFFICKING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (1st Degree) (1st Offense), > 10 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED

After the arrest on Friday, January 21st, PNTF Detectives followed up with a search warrant for Hughes’ residence. Detectives had obtained additional information on Hunter Hughes specifying a quantity of other drugs reportedly inside his residence in Webster County. Detectives obtained evidence and enough information to obtain the search warrant for Hughes’ residence located at on KY 132 West in Dixon. Detectives executed the search warrant on the residence Saturday, January 22nd but did not locate anyone inside.

According to the release, Detectives were able to seize (57) Percocet Pills, Fentanyl, approximately 18.10 grams of MDMA / Ecstasy, (120) Ecstasy (Blue, Pink & Tan) Pills, approximately 16.0 grams of suspected THC Wax,; (2) Boxes THC Cartridges, approximately (8) ounces of High Grade Marijuana and an amount of
Cocaine from inside Hughes’ residence. Also during the investigation detectives located an amount of cash, Digital Gram Scales, packaging material, Marijuana Bongs (smoking devices) and a note book with handwritten names suspected ledger.

Hunter Hughes was further charged on multiple drug trafficking warrants. All charges listed below:

  • TRAFFICKING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (1st Offense) (1st Degree), > 10 D.U. Perc 30’s.
  • TRAFFICKING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (3rd Degree) (1st Offense), > 120 D.U. SCHED IV XANAX
  • POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (1st Offense) COCAINE
  • TRAFFICKING MARIJUANA (1st Offense)> 8 0Z.
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.

Multiple arrests have been made at this time in Henderson and Webster County and detectives say more are expected as the investigation is still on-going.
