Henderson, KY 12/20/21- Just before 5PM on Saturday, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office was called to an address on Rucker Rd # 1 Igor the report of a theft involving a scam.
According to the report, when deputies arrived on scene, they met with an elderly couple who stated an unknown Hispanic male subject came to their residence and spoke to them about cutting trees in their back yard. It was reported that the elderly couple let this individual inside the residence and he took them into the kitchen and positioned them in a way where they were unable to see the front door.
The elderly couple told Deputies that while speaking to this person, his behavior was odd and they felt like they were being distracted from something. During the conversation, the subject told the elderly couple he would retrieve a business card from his vehicle and would give it to them. The male subject left the residence and never came back inside. Shortly thereafter the couple learned jewelry had been stolen from the residence.
Investigating deputies believe the male subject distracted the elderly couple while a 2nd person entered the residence and stole the items. The Henderson County Sheriffs Office wants to make this incident known to the public as well as ask for any assistance in obtaining information that can help I.D. these individuals.
The elderly couple reported to Deputies that the Hispanic male subject they spoke to appeared to be in his mid-thirties with a stocky build and was wearing a black face covering. It is unknown what vehicle the suspect(s) were driving.
