Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 1299 Sunday Evening

Henderson, Ky 6/5/22- Just before 2PM Sunday evening, emergency responders along with Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the 4300 block of Highway 1299 in reference to the report of a single vehicle motorcycle accident.

Firefighters and rescue personnel from Cairo and Robards Fire Departments, assisted by Henderson City-County Rescue Squad arrived on scene to find one man had crashed his motorcycle and was unconcious. Deputies report Richard Powell, 73 of Henderson, was the motorcycle operator involved in the accident.

Deaconess Henderson EMS initially called for a medical helicopter but once on scene, medics decided the patient’s condition was deteriorating and rapidly transported Powell to Deaconess Henderson by ground where he succumbed to his injuries.
