Henderson, KY 2/14/22- Henderson emergency responders had a busy Valentines Day which included two different collisions. Just before 2PM on Monday, Henderson emergency responders were called to the intersection of 1st and N. Green Street in reference to the report of a two vehicle accident with possible injuries.
According to police, Pamela Grossman, 62 of Henderson, was traveling West on 1st Street attempting to make a right turn onto N. Green Street when Melissa Holtzclaw, 45 of Uniontown, was traveling Northbound on N. Green Street collided with the drivers side of Grossman’s vehicle at the intersection of 1st Street.
Investigating officers say both parties were transported to Deaconess ER Henderson by Deaconess EMS for non-life threatening injuries.
Not long after, just after 2:30PM Monday, Henderson emergency responders were called to another accident report involving a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision at Walmart in the 1100 block of Barret Blvd.
According to police, Maylajia Smith, 27 of Henderson, was traveling East in the Walmart parking lot when she was blinded by the sunlight. Smith told officers she could not see a pedestrian, Herman Patterson (79), walking in the parking lot.
Investigating officers say Smith didn’t see Patterson until just before she struck him at a slow speed. Patterson was knocked down and received a laceration to his head. Patterson was transported to Deaconess Henderson ER by Deaconess EMS with suspected minor injuries. Henderson Fire Department also assisted EMS at the scene.
